Who are we?
• 500+ members who enjoy photography and want to share our interests and skills with others
• Mostly we’re amateur photographers of every skill level with various photographic interests. We use both film and digital cameras and share our work via slides, prints, and digital projection.
• We get together weekly, September through May, usually on Wednesday nights.
What does the St. Louis Camera Club have to offer?
• Education
- Weekly meetings with educational programs by members or guest speakers
- Monthly meetings devoted exclusively to digital photography
- Monthly workshops designed specifically for new and prospective members, which give detailed information on how to get the most from membership as well as photography in general. These meetings are also a great way to get acquainted with other new members.
- An annual seminar featuring a nationally known photographer
• Competitions (which are also another great form of education)
- Weekly competitions for members. Contest topics are general photography (which we call “open color”), nature, photojournalism, photo travel, and prints. We also have occasional contests with specific themes.
- A special yearly competition for new members (the “rookies only competition”)
- A short (25 image maximum) story telling contest
- A longer travelogue/photo essay contest
- A special creative competition
- Click Here for "Understanding Our Competitions"
• Fun
- Twice yearly weekend outings
- Informal day trips and photo shoots
- Socializing at CJ Muggs (Clayton) after the weekly meetings
