2020-2021 CLUB YEAR
The Board of Directors met via ZOOM on June 29th to discuss presentations and competitions for 2020-2021. The following is a summary of the various points dealt with:
-
The Ethical Society will be closed until at least the end of 2020 and, if and when they open, their social distancing requirements will only allow a maximum of 25 people in our regular meeting room.
-
For the foreseeable future, there will be no in-person events for the club.
-
All programs/presentations will be held over platforms such as ZOOM.
-
For all sections except prints, competitions will be conducted as usual under existing rules.
-
Results of competitions and comments by judges will be held over platforms such as ZOOM.
-
For prints, the board discussed how to accommodate holding competitions. Some tentative conclusions were reached, but will need to be refined.
-
Details of all the above will have to be worked out by the Competition Manager, Print section heads, Projection Team, and Technology Team.
-
The board is sensitive to members who are not familiar with sharing platforms such as ZOOM and will provide “mentors” to help those who want/need assistance.
Image of the Year Results - 2019-2020
The Image of the Year Competition results have been announced. View the summary page, or browse the gallery here (look up and to the right) that is scrolling on the home page.
The Open Digital, Nature, Photo Travel and Photojournalism sections were judged and as usual four images were chosen in each: one first place and three HM’s. Since the Color Print and Monochrome competitions were cancelled, it was decided that all images that qualified for image of the Year consideration would be included in next years competition. Because of this, there was no overall Image of the Year chosen.
2019-2020 Awards
In lieu of the Annual Awards Ceremony, a PDF of the Powerpoint that would have been used at the ceremony is available here.
